Tenancy law is much more than a practice area to me. For nearly a decade, I have dedicated my practice to residential tenancy matters in British Columbia, helping landlords and tenants navigate everything from routine disputes to precedent-setting litigation. My involvement in this area predates law school, when I volunteered with non-profit and pro bono organizations assisting individuals with housing-related issues. Having been both a landlord and a tenant myself, I understand the challenges faced on both sides.
Over the years, our firm has played an integral role in clarifying tenancy law across the province. Several of the cases we have advanced have shaped the landscape of residential tenancy law and found their way into the Residential Tenancy Branch's policy guidelines - including Momeni v. Percy and Shigani v. Taylor, among other frequently cited decisions. We have also taken tenancy matters to the British Columbia Court of Appeal, and I regularly assist other law firms with tenancy issues that intersect with family, criminal, and other areas of law.
I am a tech-forward and systems-oriented lawyer. I believe that thoughtful use of technology and well-built internal systems translates directly into sharper advocacy and better value for my clients. By streamlining how we work, I am able to focus my energy where it matters most: on results.
Alongside English, I speak German and Farsi fluently, and I am currently learning Hindi in my spare time. I look forward to the opportunity to help you with your tenancy matter.
