Subletting

The tenant temporarily rents the place to someone else while keeping the tenancy. Consent is often required, and the original tenant remains responsible for the subtenant’s conduct and the unit’s condition. We recommend that you review RTB Policy Guideline 19 which outlines the policies and issues related to subletting tenancy agreements.
