Mitigation of Loss

Both sides must reduce avoidable losses. If a tenant leaves early, the landlord must try to re‑rent promptly; if there’s damage, the landlord must repair reasonably—not gold‑plate it and hand over the bill. We recommend that you review RTB Policy Guideline 5 for more information on the legal obligation to minimize losses.
