Frustration of tenancy

A tenancy can end if it becomes impossible to continue due to events beyond the parties’ control (e.g., destruction, legal prohibition). Frustration is a very legalese term that is rooted in the common law, and the RTB has therefore published Policy Guidleline 34 to specifically address the test that arbitrators will consider when this issue comes up in a hearing.
