Fixed term tenancy

A tenancy with a defined end date (e.g., Aug 31). If the lease doesn’t require moving out for a permitted reason, it typically rolls into a periodic tenancy. It’s important to keep in mind that you are not required to sign a new fixed term tenancy once it converts to month-to-month, and that you can rely on that agreement until it is ended in accordance with the RTA, either by you or the landlord.
