Habitability

The unit must be safe, sanitary, and reasonably fit for living. Heat, hot water, structural soundness, and freedom from serious pests or mould fall here. If the home isn’t habitable and the landlord doesn’t act, remedies can include rent abatement, repairs, or ending the tenancy.
