Landlord’s Use of Property

Ending a tenancy because the landlord or close family member will move in. Be mindful that a close family member is not related to how close you are to your family; it is a term defined in the RTA to encompass a landlord's spouse, their children and parents, and their spouse's children and parents. Siblings do not count as close family members, unless discussing a family corporation. Strict notice and proof rules apply; bad‑faith use can trigger penalties.
